These broth/tea are usually very bitter, that is why they sell dried fruit also, they taste sweet. You can just drink the broth/tea, you do not need the sweet fruit..

A lot of the food you can get at most ranch 99s in America. That's why I prefer mainland food more, cuz they're harder to find in the states. .

stinky tofu doesn't taste as bad as it smells but the stench will stick to your sweat, pores, etc and you'll smell like crap the next day. Much like durian..
I paid only cents HKD in the 1960s in the old old days for the street food you have.A plate of rice with chicken and duck cost between $1.20 to $1.80 HKD. I huess the inflation is about 50 times in 50 years.. This video takes me back to the 3 weeks I spent in Hong Kong - I think I tried everything in your video at least once! It was a great time - Visited Kowloon, Repulse Bay, the Admiralty...lots of places. The travel bug bit me bad back then - Hong Kong took a lot for this small town Canadian to get used to - but the people were wonderful. I'll be going back as soon as I am able. Great video!. I was one of the "boat people" back in 1978 as a kid, and I recalled a layover in Hong Kong for one night in transition to the US for resettlement as refugees. We could not go out as tourists, however I loved the neon lights as we were busing to town to a hotel. I promised to myself I'd come back. I haven't. Same as Okinawa when I was a Marine stationed there in 1984. I think I have got to do it. .

Around hundreds thousands American living there..my adopted father's an American he also lived there almost 30 years and every years they have American meeting celebrate day..close to Xmas.

I tried to eat stinky tofu in a restaurant in the US, and I spit it out like Andrew Zimmern spit out durian. It smells like shit and taste like shit..

You should probably get in contact with each other since though your video's are very different your main attention is on food. He does mainly Thai food but has done a lot of Vietnamese and other countries food too (as your starting to do). I remember most street food vendor in Hong Kong were not liscensed in the old days and they were all over the place on the street.Most of their food are very delicious.When the police came to crack them down, they abandoned their stands and ran like hell and you can have them all for free !.

these are classic Chinese dishes that is essential for daily consumption: Roasted duck and pork, then broiled chicken, fried pork (red color) thanks God, these are still cheap because they make it daily and in large quantity.

it seams it the wild to find a bird with the, "prime cut" would be a hunters treat. a rarity, a luxury. but yes it's f 'd up the means of "framing" the use. but what happens to the rest of the bird.
Of course 2/3rds of your restaurants covers are tortured diseased geese organs it's your specialty and the vain will go to the small hand full of restaurants that sell compromised animal food. I'm fine with animals being used for food, but they should be treated well and kept healthy before they're killed (which should be done in a humane way). Forcing any animal, including a duck, to eat so much that its liver balloons with fat is totally inhumane. In my opinion, the chefs and everyone else complaining about not having foie gras are a bunch of rich, privileged babies. People around the world are starving to death every day, and these Californians want to bitch about not having fatty livers from overfed ducks to use as a "blank canvas". Ugh..

Tube feeding is faster than manual feeding my grandma did, if done correctly it takes couple seconds. The farm on the video uses extremely old technology. Inside it looks horrible without proper air circulation and light, I do not believe it taste good. Americans should know that in Europe you do not eat Fois gras (fat liver) every day. Only during Christmas and Easter Fois Gras is available. In France of course you can buy it on the market from local producers, but price is very high..
foie gras is no different then pigs chickens or cows who are overfed to make a gigantic piece of meat.

Number one...These little animals are like little children that are dependent on the adults around them to protect them, to feed them, to educate them and to love them. Its seems extremely evil to me, that adults would do all those things (protect, educate, love and feed) to these trusting little creatures with the full intention of slaughtering them within a few short months of their lives. It just seems wrong and really seems extremely wrong considering these creatures are forced to live with an enlarged liver that forces them to endure the pain and lower quality of life that comes along with that. I think if FOIE GRAS is necessary, why not just breed and harvest more ducks that have normal livers Seems much more humane. Maybe a decrease in profits but that can be fixed simply by increasing production. More ducks will die, but at least, they will all live normal lives for the short while they are here. No I haven't researched it, and I'm not going to... I splurged for a tasting menu at a one start Michelin restaurant. Foie gras was one the menu and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. If your a meat eater I think it is something you should try at least one if done right.. Never ceases to amaze me how as a species we can think up of so many ways to impose suffering on co-inhabitants of this planet. Like there isn't already enough ways to cruelly harvest animals. Add another to the list of self-indulgent luxuries we don't need.. Just saying cows and chickens don't have tubes shoved down their throats and have fatty food pumped into their stomachs, like what some places do to their ducks, and YES I've seen how cows and chickens are treated, and it's not as bad as force feeding, but it's still bad.
A few facts: Ducks and geese, which provide almost all foie gras, do not have teeth. They scoop up food and swallow it whole, where it is processed in their gut and eventually fat is stored in the liver. I have visited numerous farms in France where foie gras is produced, and I can attest that there is no cruelty involved. The birds are free range, and willingly line up when the farmer begins banging a pail with feed in it. The birds approach the farmer one by one and stretch their bills straight up to allow the grain to be poured down their throats. This resembles a shore bird swallowing a whole fish. They then return to their foraging, apparently none the worse for wear. I have spoken to both doctors and veterinarians about this, and they consistently tell me that a swollen liver is not painful. Finally, to all those who recoil in horror at foie gras, I ask, "Do you eat duck breast, available at almost all farmers' markets" If you do, you are eating the product of the same process, as this breast comes from ducks that were raised to produce foie gras. I cannot attest for all producers of foie gras, but I can assure you that it can be produced humanely, as I have witnessed in France..

I am a physician assistant. I have dealt with a considerable number of patients with diseased livers. This condition is very painful and must be alleviated with drugs. My point is that these birds are forced to endure an extreme amount of pain for 4 or 5 weeks so that a few can indulge their culinary delights. I'm not a big fan of PETA, but in this case, the morality of causing pain to satisfy our pallet has to be questioned. I noticed that everyone interviewed in this video were cash register benefactors of this inhumanity..

Personally I think organizations like PETA and the like are wasting resources trying to take care of animals when there are people actually dying in the world from disease and starvation, would you kill a person to save an animal. Meanwhile, put together one part Sriracha to two parts Frank's Red Hot and a bit of butter and microwave until butter is melted. When 40 minutes are up, turn oven to low broil and give wings five minutes per side. Remove from oven and add to bowl of wing sauce and toss to coat. At a town near where I live is a couple big factories, one is run by General Mills and the other is run by Bellisio Foods. The first makes all sorts of cereal and Pillsbury bakes goods, the other makes those Michelina's TV dinners. Both factories also make pizza rolls. I heard the smells from those places are heavenly - no complaints from the locals!:).
I love this stuff. Sriracha has a terrific flavor that compliments so many dishes. It has replaced all my other hot sauces. Not for the heat but for the flavor..

I was born in Miss. and also have relatives all thru the south Alabama, Louisiana... and if your on the southern coastline of Louisiana, You can smell (Tabasco) Avery Island a couple miles away if the wind is right, You can only imagine what Sriracha reak's like if you live near that plant. I cannot tell a lie, I use this is almost everything that I eat. From soup, tuna fish sandwiches, eggs, beans, mayo and the list goes on. I'm asian so I've been using this sause since I was a child, this stuff is like Asian Tabasco, which I also like, glad to see it's finally getting mainstream popularity.

People who complain about the scent of Siracha are just pussies who can't eat spicy food. I noticed people who can't eat spicy foods are usually sugar holic fatasses who don't eat any fruits or vegetables..

sriracha really isn't that hot i love it.i mean its like some chines hot sause i put it on my biritos all the time. the only hard part about it is that its so much to buy one thing of it. peace out..

my personal favorate slather it over a pork chop a spoon full of oil to prevent sticking...so so so good.

The bad thing is, that they use plastic for every part of the process. There must be a very damaging contamination in the sauce, when the peppers interact with the plastic. There has to be a chemical reaction..

+Joseluis Guinea there is another plastic called "PLA", and it's made from corn. They actually use it in 3d printers sometimes because it's completely safe to breath the fumes. You're talking about oil-based plastics, and for safety reasons I doubt they use oil-based plastic..

I love me some Rooster Sauce! Only thing I put on my Nachos! If they take it away or stop making it; I will just die! Went to the store to get some one day and they were out! Picked up another brand that tasted disgusting! There is nothing like it. That new brand went in the trash! I thought it would have been delicious cause this company makes the best soy sauce, in my opinion, they should stick to making soy sauce. Their sriracha sucks!!!!!!.

Cheap tabasco sauce is hotter than this stuff. Also "tour" isn't pronounced "tore". I don't see them boiling hot pepper oils. And besides, if they lived where I live, they'd have dog food and chemical toilet odors from time to time, on rare occasion (mostly on hot days)... And I live in a good suburb neighborhood.. Sriracha isn't even that hot. They started adding sugar to meet with a more casual market.(girls) You have to get the Sriracha in a jar, not a squeeze bottle, to get the real heat and flavor..

meh my family uses this sauce in our meats,veggies(it's not weird) and even in our soups with noodles.

I've had that stuff, it actually isn't that hot... then again..i can eat an entire jar of jalepeno peppers without thinking anything of it..
+Ring Man A.K.A. Germasian IOI there sauce tastes great, but yeah not that hot, neither is Valentina black but it tastes amazing.. I don't even like spicy food and I can't get enough of this stuff. I use it mostly for a spicy California Roll Ahi fish poke (Hawaiian raw fish tartar) recipe.. I don't know why Frank's Red Hot sauce's slogan is "I put that shit on everything" because it's only good on wings. Sriracha on the other hand, I put that shit on everything! . My grandmother was born in an Azore Island. She use to run down to the beach and gather large sea snails when she was less than 11 years old.. She probably would love those.. Fantastic. They can scrape them off the bottom of their lifeboat. Supposedly they are sweet, with a little lobsterish texture.. Great video. I harvest them on offshore pinnacles here in northern California. They look different so most fast foodies will not touch them, but with a flavor rivaling Dungeness crab, the adventuresome eater is certainly rewarded! You are better off boiling some fresh mackerel with potatos and greens and covered in olive oil. Let the mackerel sit for a few hours covered in rock salt before cooking it. And mackerel is dirt cheap, its used as bait for a reason because iits tastes very good. But this is fish that tastes like fish. Thats why most north americans love tilapia because it does not have a fishy taste( has a muddy taste) but if you dont like fishy taste you shouldnt be eating fish in the first place. HAKE fish is dirt cheap and a staple in portuguese food, its good fried. Its like walleye from the ocean. And theres nothing like a good Grouper ( sold as Wreck fish) steak.

Trendy foodie barnacle recipe. So I went out harvested some and tried them. They taste like a clam, but what a waste. For the size, most of the animal is wasted. Not much protein to mass ratio. They only really serve as a faint appetizer. I say stick with the calamari..

Hopefully, people in Asia don't eat barnacles. I remember back the 70's when we could gets bucket loads of seaweed covered in herring eggs along the California coast. My dad would cure them in a mix of vinegar, soy sauce, and lemons. That was until people in the US discovered that people in Asia would spend big dollars for it. This beef noodle soup called "yaka mein" looks delicious. This originates from New Orleans. I would really like to try this soup..

This dish goes back to China. My dad learned to make it in the 30's from a Chinese cook in my grandfather's lunch counter in Houston. It is a great way to use leftovers. Pork roast, chicken, seafood, Bean sprouts or some bok choy are great, whatever you got. Add some stock from the pot on the back of the stove a shot of soy sauce and top with hard boiled egg and green onion. We used Chinese noodles, but I can see a NOLA twist with spaghetti and her secret spice blend..

There is nothing better than greasy "yak-mein" udon noodles, white onion, 1/2 hard boiled egg and red edged pork... the BEST! No need to be drunk, just hungry. P.S. Since being in AZ I've found the answer to the discontinued Campbell's Pepper Pot Soup. Menudo is great. I doctor up the canned version (Juanita's) with a few of my own ingredients, but it's great. The spicier the better!!!!.

I live in Arizona also. (Phoenix, to be precise.) ,I lived in Bawlmer Hawn, for a year and Yat Gaw Mein was a STAPLE of Chinese Delivery there. You couldn't swing a dead cat and not hit a Chinese Delivery Place that served Yat Gaw Mein in my neighborhood. (Mount Vernon.).
I noticed it on a Chinese restaurant's menu for delivery in S FL. I'm sure it won't be the same as Miss Linda's but am looking forward to trying it! :).
Ironically, my Yaka Mein source here in Chicago is now closed. Since 1980 I have been enjoying this great dish at a place called Hamburger King, which was located at the intersection of Sheffield Ave, Clark Street, and Newport. It was a small diner of sorts which also was known for their Octagowa a wonderful concoction of scrambled egg, bean sprout, green bell peppers and hamburger pieces, all cooked in a skillet as one, then a side of white rice and gravy...add tomatoes and extra hamburger and it becomes yet another dish, called hamburger royale, not to be confused with the Pulp Fiction version..
Royale is the name of a dish invented in the Japanese American concentration camps. Look up "weenie royale". It's hot dogs, onions, and egg..
Im gonna use the ingredients you mentioned, nix the gravy/tomatoes, substitute the rice for noodles add a bit of water & some type of bouillon cube to the skillet mix & go for broke. goodstuff. Thnx for the start-up, Stephen.. :).

Of course, just use what you have. Not sure what green monster is. I have different ways to make/eat this smoothie on my blog :)..

I'm pretty broke right now can i do this with my blender and also have you done a "Green monster" I'm wanting to start doing these for breakfast. -beginner!!.
I showed how the smoothie pack looks in the video, it's just a frozen concentrate of acai you can use in a variety of recipes. It's the main ingredient in this acai smoothie since it's packed with antioxidants. If you can't find it, just use more of the frozen mixed berries :).
Looks yummyyy!! I actually just made the glowing green smoothie today.. from the beauty detox! now I have another smoothie to try after! haha :D .

Mmmmm... I love acai... I like to add bananas and granolas with it and a hint of honey... So ono ^_^.
