For those of you (like me) who don't have/can't get powder or gel food colouring, you can just add 4-5 drops of liquid food colouring to your water (slightly less water) before you add it to your glucose and continue with the recipe as normal. I've tried it and it works! You might want to use rubber gloves when mixing the food coloured glucose with your chocolate to avoid staining your hands..

What happens if your chocolate gets greasy while you are trying to work with it I mean, how do you fix that or is it just that way.

+amy walker The chocolate is melting due to the heat of your hands. Try putting some powdered sugar/icing sugar on your hands, and then rolling it out. It should help..

I did mine in a pot cause I don't have a microwave and once I added the corn syrup and water it didn't get thick like yours did. It's still very liquidy. Why is it doing this What am I doing wrong.

Any chocolate that doesn't contain cocoa butter in the ingredients of the chocolate is fine ie: candy melts.

I tried to make Modelling chocolate last night. I checked it just there and it crumbled. Did I do something wrong.
So I tried this exact recipe and ughh disliked it!!! I tried it twice and thought it looked a bit odd...so I looked for different recipes and every others recipe I saw didn't add water..so the next batch I did without the water and it came out perfect.. the colors I made with this recipe are super sticky (even after being left overnight) and the ones without water are the perfect consistency. Just a tip for anyone trying this for the first time :).

If you are in the us It is called corn syrup so where ever you can buy that. How can we fix the modeling chocolate if it is soft More melted chocolate Or more corn syrup Or less water!! . wrap it up and put it in the refrigerator for a while.. if it is too soft you have probably kneeded too much. heat from our hands warms it up fast..

Make sure you are taking the chocolate out and Stirring it between when it's it the microwave chocolate melts best agitated. +Ashley Bernabe you can buy the chocolate to melt at a Joanne's craft store if you have one near you :-D. I just made the modeling chocolate the other day, it's still on my counter ,,do you suggest it to be stored in the frig or room temp...thank's for the quick reply since I just made it 2 days ago and don't want it to go bad.. So 9 ounces of chocolate... how much would that be in cups or another American measurement I'm afraid I don't own a kitchen scale to weigh it. o.o;. I did, actually. Didn't get any real answer. However, managed to figure it out for myself. A 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips is the equivalent of 2 cups. Breaking that into quarters of 3, that would mean that 9 ounces of this would be 1 and a half cups. Went by this and my modeling chocolate came out GREAT. n.n.
Just type ounces to cups on Google maybe and it'll come up with a website that could convert it, that's just way I do but good luck 😝.

keep both wrapped up in plastic wrap and in a zip lock bag. store in a dry cool place it should keep for 6 or more months. I use mine up so fast that it doesn't have time to store very long. .

S***, I´m from Germany and we dont habe candymelts here and i didn´t read the questions in the information box bevor making the modeling chocolate, so i used couverture! I first tried it with normal chocolate, wich I also eat, but when i tried to melt it, it get greasy, but thats typical for german supermarket chocolate. Will my modeling chocolate do her job though.

I understand starch is sugar. However I find it extremely hard not to eat anything that has starch. I was brought up with starchy foods like rice, potatoes and pasta in my meals. I would feel something's missing when I don't eat them. I have tried it - I experimented with stuffing myself with lettuce and meats until my stomach's full during meals but every time I would still wish for a bit of starch. Basically I was full but not satisfied. If we are not supposed to eat starchy foods, then they all should be made extinct. That way people will have no choice but replace them with leafy vegetables and just deal with the misery. Our next generation will then not know what starch is and not have the same desire..
A lot of these kinds of videos are kind of alarmist and explains things to us as if we were purely instinctive animals. People's brains don't just process tastes and release dopamine, we use them to think as well... and that's why sugar doesn't have the described effects on a lot of us because we exercise what's called self-control. Something more people should do. Don't get me wrong, these videos are super informative, it's just that they portray sugar as some kind of bad addictive drug. Sugar is good and it brings a smile to people's faces. it brings people together and it makes great gifts!.

So if sugar activates the reward system is it normal to dislike sugary foods I hate super sugary foods. It always makes me thirsty and I don't feel like any good is coming out of it. In fact, I hate cake. Even as a child I told my parents to not get me cake for my birthday because I hate the frosting so much. Greasy foods like meat, however, I really really love. I also like sour stuff. When it comes to candy, I prefer sour. I also like to eat grapefruits without any sugar. (Most people seem to like to put some sugar on it while eating it.) So is my reward system messed up or different It's also good to note that as a child I had a problem with sugar. If I ate even a little bit of sugar, especially chocolate, I would generally get very sick the next day and constantly puke. I didn't know that starch, dextrose, lactose, and maltose was a type of sugar. If dopamine is so addictive why don't food companies add dopamine to vegetables so they can become addictive Maybe this is the key to reducing obesity, but instead food companies WHETHER add it to sweeting and fattening things that's poor for the body. I think it was a mix of words. When he said different parts of the tongue, he was referring to the disks placed in various locations. When he was talking about the different flavors, he meant the disks which triggered changes in your tongues taste buds.. "Krispy Kreme on every corner..." "So, scientists say..."
