+Renate J Stop eating or drinking anything that would have hormones in it. All dairy and meat if not organic will have bovine growth hormones in it. I did this and my hormonal problems went away! I went 70% raw. Juiced and green smoothies. ALL my health problems went away. Horrible night sweats, hot flashes, daily stomach problems, depression and really bad asthma! All gone! I juiced blended, banana, organic coconut oil. Juiced kale, swiss chard, spinach carrot, ginger and sometimes some other stuff. I did 1 juice daily and 1 smoothie daily and ate one meal that was REAL food! No prepackaged anything. I had one day a week that I would eat whatever I wanted and I drank alcohol. This worked for me. I can’t drink any citric acid from Oranges, grapefruit, etc. My lipes break out with blsters and I mean BIG blisters. If I keep drinking the juice, the blisgters get bigger and spread all over my lips! Major problem that I hve had for over 50 years! What can I use as a subsitute for the orange.

Be careful as to how much ginger you use. It can be very spicy and hot if you put in more than needed based on your pallet..

I have been doing only a little juicing, protein powder and healthy food, not enough water and juice. What this guy says makes sense and I already feel better after ginger/carrot/apple/celery juicing/water/lemon/greens no red meat. Muscles getting stronger, still burning fat - no carbs or processed sugar..

juicing any fruit is a bad idea - how can you advocate orange juice when all you are extracting is the sugar from the fruit. Sorry but totally disagree. Always juice vegetables and EAT the damn fruit!. What are your credentials BTW Are you a qualified nutritionist, dietician or a doctor.

+CrunchTheory MIster, yes you are extracting the enzymes and vitamin C but you are missing out in the FIBRE which slows down the fructose absorbtion, thus overloading your liver. So whatever "good stuff" you are ingesting is almost negated by the damage you are causing from fructose overload! Because you will not have juice of just one orange - it takes 3 to 5 oranges to fill a glass - do you normally have 3-5 oranges in a sitting Unless of course you are a glutton...You obviously arent an expert in oranges or dont have your basic facts right.Now go see your doctor! Im just starting this juice thing me and my wife we baught a fusion juicer. She's kind of turned off on the veggis raw in the juicer Im ok with it but she love fruits but im diabetic. AND the hunger still get there so for people that dont drink from the start we are dehydrated and drink sodas going to only drinking for substance is a big change but we will try. You need to have SOO much of ginger and Turmeic too feel the effects for serious pain. I have chronic neck and shoulder pain, any stress on the shoulder muscle trigger of heavy migraine like pain behind my head, throbbing. I had over 250g of ginger (Strong Bangladeshi ones burns like crazy) and after 12 hrs my pain went down. Once the inflammation starts thats it, it will go on and on, sometimes i cant handle it and cant wait i just take one ibuprofen..

I go back in this Friday to get remaining teeth out. I'm researching but having a hard time finding the info I need fast enough/by Friday. I woke up this morning saying to myself, do I want to be "Fat, Sick and Almost Dead" or do I want to watch "Mr Liferegenerator" Dan McDonald...I have been Yoga healthy all my life, pretty good diet etc. Then I went to Europe for two weeks for work. Everyday big meals, some fresh. Everyday walking 10 miles in flat boots and putting a large suitcase on/off trains etc. I was getting a few pains in my feet/hips but nothing big. Then something felt like it popped in my hip while on my long flight home. Then I fell on my tile floor about a week later, slipping on a rawhide dog treat...carrying my computer -I saved my computer but fell hard. My hip began to hurt worse each day. I continued to stretch etc. Finally, pain unbearable last week (now six weeks later) went to the Dr. for a hip xray/MRI. Oh my gosh...2.5 hour wait for the first Dr. wait again for xray...wait again for MRI. Nothing on XRAY can't get into MRI reading Dr until Jan 8..They gave me anti-inflam. pills and pain pills. Now my stomach hurts..I am not going to do this. I am going to figure this out your way. Thank you for your consistent message and reaching out. I have been watching you a long time and continually go back to get your inspiration. You are right, our medical/human system is very, very sick. In the waiting room of the orthopedic Dr. were three mobile wheel chairs. One guy had to have been 700-800 pounds! +David Mosier Actually that is how inflammation works. Unless you are talking about injury specific inflammation. General inflammation that the majority of north americans suffer from is an inflammation that works against them in many different areas of their bodies at the same time. Taking something like advil will both get rid of an inflammation headache AND help swelling in your knee or hip go down at the same time. Taking advil can actually help people who have general inflammation problems but its not a very good long term solution. ALL inflammation in the body is bad, all of it. There is no good inflammation except that which happens automatically when injured (and even that is not good for you beyond a few hours).

No they do not contain vitamin D. Only the sun and milk from cows or goats do that. Vitamin D is actually a hormone based vitamin necessary for heart and brain function. Which is why milk is so vital for infants and vitamin D in the aid or prevention of MS and many other chronic illnesses.

Very inspiring!! Thank you Dan! I only have a citrus juicer so I 've been making lemon/ grapefruit/ tangelo juice every morning since January 1 this new year. I've been 100% vegetarian, and probably 50% raw. I have so much more energy, I've never had a full day where I don't feel tired until now. There is an alternative to honey known as jaggery. It is basically unprocessed sugar and has none of the side effects of sugar..You can find at the Indian store. It is an expensive product, being from New Zealand, and because it's mono-floral. The more potent, the more expensive (look for the active number +)! +Daniel Hristov, I'm interested in the quality/strength of the product you have if it's only $12. There are fakies out there that are sold for considerably less.. I honestly don't think I would be able to drink that! Turmeric is so strong, to me at least.. I'll have to find some other way to incorporate it into my diet. Maybe I'll add a dash to my daily smoothie c:.
So I tried this last night and let me say this is also lying and amazing! The turmeric I think helped ease my pain and the ginger and almond milk certainly helped settle my stomach! I'm pregnant and I also have sickle cell disease which requires me to take heavy narcotics sometimes. I try to find other ways around not taking the meds but I just end up not taking them and making everything worse. The pain has gotten worse si be I've been pregnant and normally it takes me 3-4 months to go through a 30 day supply of my meds..

Her blender is very high quality, so it should blend very well. But if you try this and find out its too stringy or has too many fibers you can try using a coffee filter or a cheese cloth! Good luck!.

+Miranda Cloud I feel ya! My city does not offer much in the way of culture or "ethnic" stores either. About once a month, I make it over to a large urban area about an hour and a half away that has MUCH more to offer. They have several small ethnic markets and grocers throughout the area that are family owned and old school. All of the "Eastern" markets have fresh turmeric if you ever find yourself near one. It's also a great place to buy nice, inexpensive spices some I've never heard of before! They also carry fresh turmeric at Whole Foods if you get near one of those sometime..

+Kerbyn Gauthier she used coconut oil, but you could use any oil/fat. coconut oil will have a specific slightly sweet coconutty taste though where as something like olive oil will taste a little different. i would go with coconut oil or grass fed butter or something along those flavor lines probably. ;). Hey Rob, how can I "eat clean" and consume enough calories everyday I dont want to lose weight. I ate clean for around three weeks and my skin improved dramatically but I lost so much weight,I was starting to look like a long distance runner. I have a physical job and train at the gym at least 4 times per week so need to at least maintain my weight. please help.
+PRODIGY1234100 That depends on if you have fat or toxins in your body. If you are eating clean and working out and being physical it will be no problem to put on or keep as much muscle as you like (most the time once you get into your rythm its way easier) but if you have fat it will go away. Im working out and playing upwards of 20 hours per week and Im actually gaining weight ( all muscle no fat) on a crazy clean all plant based whole food diet. I also dont eat a crap load of calories. When your cleaned out, toxin free and your hormones are on point you really dont want or need as much fuel either... everything we were taught about health and gaining muscle is ass backward 99% of the time. It took me years to de learn what muscle and fitness destroyed my brain with :).

Alcohol needs to be processed like a poison in the body. It causes toxic build up and stresses the digestion and the liver. That causes inflammation..
Every morning I have my tea with turmeric and ginger I extract my ginger in a juicer... And honey... It give u some much energy try it u would love it :).
I am by no means an expert on chrons. My advise would be the foods on this list. Get plenty of rest and fresh air. Make sure you gut is healthy and working well.. dont have much experience with it. i will check it out though. have you used or tried maca if so did you like it.

You wont find it on a lot of peoples list though. it can be hard to digest for some people... poor digestion leads to inflammation. Thats why i dont use it!. There are a lot of foods that help certain people with inflammation. You have to understand that I come from a yogic background. Onions are considered rajistic which means they can cause to much fire and can throw digestion off for some people. Poor digestion and assimilation leads to inflammation. I have been making the golden Milk recipe for a couple years. It is great for Arthritic Psoriasis. It gets rid of the inflammation that hurts your joints so much. As said here the pepper activates the turmeric. I have never heard of the oil for carrot digestion before however will try it out w/ the coconut oil. One suggestion that helps with the inflammation is ginger. After I try this smoothie I may add a little fresh ginger to see if it effects the taste. You can look up the golden milk recipe online there are many versions..

I make almost this exact same thing but I add a couple cups of spinach and sometimes oatmeal in place of hemp. spinach makes it really creamy and has vitamins that help muscles. nice video thanks:)). it's TurMERic. lol. yes a great smoothie. all fresh smoothies help combat arthritis. having an alkaline diet stops the inflammation. ginger and turMERic esp good, but i became allergic to turmeric when i took it for arthritis pain. i think i over did it at first. i was taking it in pill form. .
I would add cayenne, but I add cayenne to just about all my smoothies. You are a great testament to what a lot of ladies could look like with proper nutrition and diet. It's hard to believe you were born 1964 or earlier..

this stuff only reduce inflammation, you need to rebuild tissue. Im not sure about hemp seed doing that or almond milk for that matter. Everything else besides the spices just have vitamins and sugar. Will help anyway, point is this will only take care of some painful symptoms and its probably cheaper to buy those new anti-inflammatory drugs.. U can get rebuilt ones on Amazon. You really wont taste the tumeric. I use it all the time, especially if using ginger or sweet fruits like banana as they're pretty strong flavours, tumeric is not. However, the one side effect I get is that I get a very slight odor reminiscent of curry powder if I sniff my armpit without any deo on! But i do mean 'very slight'. Tumeric is great for arthritis, or any inflammatory condition (cancer included) and i use them alternately with expensive Omega 3 capsules, for my intensive gym classes..

I don't know, I imagine it would be different for each person and their condition. Please consult your health practitioner as I'm not a doctor. Thanks for understanding..

HIGH BLOOD SUGAR brought about by defecincies that are essential to get the glucose into the cells. Namely the B vitamins (especially B3 +B9), Chromium, Magnesium, Zinc and Vitamin D. this is an amazing video. totally helps explian my feelings when i was severely depressed and wanted to just go away and die. this was back in highschool when i was barely eating one meal a day (dinner when my mom gave it to me) and was hardly sleeping due to family and school stress ( like an average of 3 hours of sleep a night until it was more like 0 hours of sleep at its worst). At the time i did not realize how little i was eating and sleeping as i was so stressed. my body must have actually been in survival mode desperatly begging me to just rest and eat good food (it clearly didnt want me to eat what i usually ate as i didnt feel hungry even though i must have been starving, probably my body trying to keep me from getting sick). No wonder why i didnt want to hang out with my friends or family or go to school my body didnt want me to get sick or get others sick. since leaving school i actually had time to rest, and i actually started feeling hungry again so i ate and i got really sick even had to go to the emergency room (even though i was eating enough food now i wasnt eating the right food) but i did my research and slowly ate less and less animal products and cured myself. it is so much easier to be happy and healthy being vegan lol. i wish i had known back in highschool what my body was actually trying to tell me. basically it was saying stop stressing, focus on getting some good rest and eat lots of good food, or your going to get sick (but it probably thought i was already sick) and die, ill do my best to protect you and other humans from you until you are better by keeping you from doing things that might make your condition worse, but if you dont get better soon you're going to try to protect the rest of humanity by going off to die as you dont want others to suffer like you are and its best to just let your suffering end. it makes so much more since now expecially when you compare it to how other animals like cats go off and find a remote place to die when they get too old or sick. and cats stop eating and doing much of anything and distance themselves before they die because thats an instinctive strategy to prevent other cats or their loved ones from getting sick too. its pretty scary to think about how bad it was when i was depressed and how much my body seemed to be preparing for my death. how could i not see what is so clear to me now back then. is it possible to measure oxidation in food i recently started eating cooked beans and lentils, but i'm wondering how oxidized my food is... i also eat anti-oxidant raw foods, but if a 800-1000 calories bean/lentil meal has alot of oxidation, then i might cut down on it.. (it's better to cut down on the bad stuff than try to "balance" the bad with some good). I have recovered from depression with a low fat plantbased diet(as much whole foods as possible) + meditation and daily exercise. I have never felt so good in my life! I've met quitte a few people who are depressed, but bringing up that it might be diet related, didn't resonate with any of them..

I have recently become vegan, this is probably week 6 or 7 so far. At first I really felt great, my digestive system improved every single day and I was sleeping a lot better. I felt like I had more energy and clarity as well. At this point though I feel like I have much lower energy, and I am feeling more depressed. I have never really liked my job, and have been thinking about quitting for the last year. The last few weeks I keep thinking about this more and more. I feel like maybe the mental clarity I have gotten through the diet is trying to show me that I should just quit my job. Has anyone had a similar experience.

I believe that intake of calories is a misconception. A person who eats a diet consisting of 5,000 calories a day, but only 10% of those calories are from fat, will likely have a BMI that is much healthier than the person who eats a diet consisting of 2,000 calories a day, but 50% of those calories are from fat. Calories is what gives you energy, fat and toxins is what makes you fat and unhealthy..

Some of the recommendations are vague - like reducing alcohol and coffee consumption. I don't consume any alcohol, but studies suggest I should be drinking a glass of red wine each evening. Also, caffeine is one of the most studied substances around and the general consensus is that 2-3 cups in the morning is fine and has positive mental benefits. Just don't drink it 7-8 hours before bedtime. What's missing in the discussion presented is any sense of "dose". Of course, some of this is just plain common knowledge or common sense. And some of it is disputed (like whether fish oils are something that should be generally recommended). But mostly its unsupported and hence it has added essentially nothing to my knowledge on the subject. It was a wasted hour.. I think grating them is even better as there's lots of nutritional benefit from consuming the fibrous portion. 2) There is some evidence turmeric during pregnancy, mainly high dose medication is a risk. So I'd recommend avoiding turmeric or if taken it should be in very small amounts. Ginger and cucumber appears fine. But you should always check with your doctor first..

Corey, the watermelon provides all the liquid this needs. Just be sure to put that ingredient in first so the vitamix blades can blend that into the liquid which provides all you need to then blend the kale and cucumbers..
It looks like 4-5 cups watermelon, 1-2 cups kale, 1 cucumber which makes approximately 5-6 cups of green smoothie. You can reduce the quantities if you don't want to make as big a batch. Think 2/3 fruit, 1/3 greens in general..

Yes, you can grind coffee beans in the standard wet container, although the dry container is recommended for grains, etc. Use the tamper to push the beans into the blades. The grind isn't as exact as from a coffee grinder, but it's suitable for brewing. Don't over grind or the granules will be too fine. Probably 15 seconds on variable speed 5, but experiment, as I'm not a coffee drinker and haven't actually ground coffee beans in the VitaMix. Let me know your results and google it for more info.. Start by growing some, even if you only have one 5gal buckets with drilled wholes on them. If each person starts then it will spread the trend and sharing will start and life will get better.. 2 oldworld82 Thanks!
