Its one thing to have ten times the worst flu you can imagine, but then imagine thinking and feeling like you were literally going crazy on top of it. I got sick just thinking about this. Being locked up on a steel bed in an 8x8 cement room and withdrawals kick in!! Just shoot me..
+Karen Susuli I'm going to go out on a limb and say you have personally never gone through this... Correct clonidine and loperamide do very little to nothing at all and are only designed to combat diarrhea... when you're coming off of opiates the diarrhea is the least of your worries the mental anguish and torment and constant manic bounce of your mind body telling you to run run run run run and go go go go go flu symptoms aside the mental anguish is what makes people go insane.
+maynordj Yeah it's the mentals that get to you more than anything. Just no peace of mind at all. Thats why people go back.. This is every bit as bad as you might imagine and worse. Just try to remember any time you have had painful cramp in one of your muscles, you have to first imagine having that cramp all over your legs arms and back. Then try to remember having the flu, and imagine having terrible flu on top of that cramp. Then finally imagine being so tired all you want to do is lie down, but being so restless and agitated that you can't lie in the same position for more than 10 seconds. Every time you lie down you are relieved of tiredness for a few seconds and then immediately in restless pain and forced to move. It's hell on earth and the worst part of it is that you know just one hit of heroin will take it all away in SECONDS..
+Bill Patrick Jones And then there is that inability to sleep horror, which turns a day into a week and a week into a month, it gets fuckin desperate there's nothing quite like it..

There bis absolutely no reason to put someone in jail like this and not give them the medical attention needed to help ease withdrawal. Withdrawal is no joke and can become life threatening. We need to stop punishing people for using drugs..
+C. C. C his fuckin' problem, no one put him to do heroin. He could've stood to weed but the dude wanted more... well, here's what you get.. +Carpetbagger Extraordinaire You've said alot of really deep things. Things I can relate with. I have thoughts of suicide every day. Have for many years. It's not uncommon. Many people flirt with the idea and then come to their senses. You have a purpose. You may not know it yet or what it is but there is something in this world that will make you happy. I know, crazy right, you...happy. You're only 5 days clean. Things get much better with time. I quit Meth over 10 years ago. Since then have fallen in love which is something I convinced myself I could never do, have gotten a contractors license and am planning on starting a buisness. It really comes down to one choice I guess, "Get busy living or get busy dying" You have a future if you want it and may the force be with you. . +Anon Y. Mous A wise decision. I could smoke crack for days and quit with very little downside. Heroin will stay with you at least mentally for a very, very, long time..
If you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms, seeking professional help would be the most appropriate move..
+- MrRIchBiker I was not referring to the addict but to people like David. To lack understanding and empathy in this situation is ridiculous. This man needed medical attention. To lockup someone without medical attention for this is inhumane, dangerous and pointless. Damn Cops. Not all, but some are inhumane bastards. They killed my step-son 3 yrs ago. (non-addict and different situation) but they killed him and left him in the cell to die without ANY medical treatment. Well all of that is in Gods and the lawyers hands. Peace and blessings. Sorry for the rant. I had not realized that this video would bring out such painful and angry emotions. I truly did not intend to mention our tragedy. .
That fuckin cell is not a place you'd want to do a cluck in, bright, white and nowhere to lie down..
When Bayer scientists found a way to produce the drug comercially they tought it was a safe withdrawal free alternative to Morphine and they had so much hopes that they called them "Heroin". Actually Heroin is several times more addictive than Morphine. thats pretty fucked up..
This is my worst fucking nightmare, honestly I am in pain just watching this poor kid and nobody having the empathy to help him :( WHEN are we going to stop locking up our brothers and sisters for DRUG ADDICTION that is a victemless crime! Have some fucking sympathy you heartless bastards! Heroin withdrawal I would not wish on my worst enemy, it is TORTURE in every sense of the word and you can't just say "Well you shouldnt do it derp" because it is a symptom of a sick society to use drugs! I could cry seeing videos like this where they just don't give a shit that another human is going through FUCKING HELL, once heroin takes over ALL OF SUBURBAN white america and these jail guards kids are addicts they will suddenly realize how wrong they have been!.

lol oh man i have been there. and they always pump the holding cells with fucking freezing cold air just to make you suffer more..

i have no idea what this guy is going through but alcohol withdrawal is absolutely horrible considering you get seizures and stuff :(.

+Alex Abrams I can't imagine heroin withdrawal, but I went through withdrawal for prescription meds. I was taking 4ea, 80 mg Oxycotin, 8ea, 60 mg Oxycodone pills, along with the 100 (mg) Fentanyl patch after my surgery, for 3 months. I went through the withdrawal, not knowing that I was supposed to taper down. Yeah I was very ignorant about drugs, and it was 16 days of feeling you had the worst flu of your life. The only narcotic I ever had before was the occasional shot of Demerol when I couldn't get over a migraine, (please remember that this was in the 1990's, a few years ago). The thing I remember was the week of not being able to breathe unless you actually thought about breathing. I really feel for anyone fighting any addiction. It's so damm easy to say this is the last time you will ever do it..
Dumb asses why do u guys even do anything more than Marijuana Isnt that enough For fuk s sake I learnt computer programming after I started smoking weed.People offered me cocaine and magic mushroom and lsd,I asked them to fuck off.I dont even know why people try addictive opiates when Weed is enough to give u that pleasant buzz that does not damage your life. +itakeyouthere Nothing to do with weakness. I'd like to see you do a full weeks work while withdrawing.. +Laurie Anderson For me it was curiosity. It's more than a buzz. I've tried pretty much every other drug and can take them or leave them, but heroin has no equals.. This is a fucked up feeling especially for the first 3 days. Only jail remedies for withdraws in my opinion is sweets, showers, and sleep..
Im glad they put em there tbh, Its a force and tells them to stop the only thing they can do is think and with drug addicts thats the problem they dont think.. Espicially when they first start doing the drug.
So let me start by saying that no addict ever plans on becoming addicted. A bad car accident that left me with shattered bones in my face forced me to be prescribed opiate painkillers for several months. My doctor didn't see fit to taper my dosage, so I became hooked from taking my medicine the way I was supposed to. That is how most people succumb to addiction. It isn't some inherent weakness in character. I like to ask individuals that judge so quickly, if you've ever drank alcohol before and had a hangover, why would you ever do it again Some people make poor choices, but to assume that anyone asks for such torment is naive and honestly dangerous. Many people that look down at addicts end up becoming those whom they judge.. This doesn't do any justice to the absolute agony withdrawals are...but heroin is just too damn perfect not to take it time and time again..
Pisses me off that people don't realize that drug addiction sometimes isn't just a choice but a illness. i.e. my mom she has no sympathy and says that all addicts should be put on a island to die. Look at it this way who wakes up with the intent to spend all their money and go hey I'm going to inject this shit in me. Nobody without a mental illness would and as I got older I started to research what's my problem. And come to find out its all from my mother's side of the family including my sister have not drug problems but mental illness. That side of the family about 20 + cousins all in some form or another are addicts and suffer from some sort of mental illness. But my mother suffers from mental illness and doesn't even realize it and accept it and it's a shame. So bottom line most addicts start not from wanting to get high but an outlet from the suffering of mental illness I personally didn't know I was sick until I see ked help myself cause something didn't seem right. I began using after losing my health insurance and self medicating and wasn't til years later I found out my sisters also seeked help for their heads. Luckily they're older by 15 yrs & didn't grow up around all the pills and illegal drugs that run so rampant today throughout the US..

bullshit..i am kicked heroine in thailand...man up five days of misery..total pussy crying over withdrawl.. wimps...i had the best in theplanet. go to thailand..sniff a eightball a day for a month..then quit...these pussys make me sick.oh..30 years clean...JESUS CHRIST BROKE MY CHAINS.....

My grandpap says: "A good way to quit junk is by an overdose. Another good way to quit is to take a shot and fall off a tall building. It'll be the best jolt they ever have.".
fuck that mate, i feel like clucking just watching this, so glad im in recovery, 3yrs next week, longest time ive been clean in 30yrs and this time i did it cos i was ready.. Hoped SOME ONE listened to me! Heroin is the WORST drug out there! As is COKE & METH! I REALLY HOPE that SOME ONE out there actually heard me!!(weed isn't good either)!!. At least he's not at risk for dying like benzo w/d. Countless prisoners have lost their lives from that.. I shot drugs for 25 years. I have every vein I was born with. I used prescription drugs mostly pain reliever and morphine 95% of the time and kept syringes clean. Try to use a clean syringe each time. In Tennessee this was impossible because most pharmacies would not sell them even though u did not need a script. I am not proud of this. Stay away from tar. It is the worse drug for veins ever. You will have a lot of health problems if you get old and will need your veins. If the 12 Step program or faith based won't work for you try Suboxone or Methadone. Suboxone is the better of the two..
+Carpetbagger Extraordinaire Get a real good jones going where you are so sick you crap your pants and try the Subs. I take no other mind altering drugs..
I hope your doing better but as I learned it's a lifelong battle,I stopped using in my late 20s and I'm 39 now and it feels like a part of me is missing never to return again.I hope any kids watch these and don't use and even if you kick it destroys your body to I feel like I have the body of a 60yr old just runs you down.
the problem with trying to become clean is the withdrawal symptoms feel like the flu 10 times worse and knowing that all you need is one hit to make it all go away..

I'm gonna put myself out on a limb here - very seriously. Ready When the pushers want your kid hooked, they move a family in your nice neighborhood.A real family (who is paid handsomely). They have the "new kid" throw a party.Heroin is given freely.Kids get hooked...BAM! But it can NEVER be PROVEN at all! This is how smart they are.CANT PROVE IT! Heard this from a good source.Keep your kids AWAY from unknown parties! That's what happened to MINE!.
The fact he continues to hurt himself (by using), even though he no longer gets high, further proves what a terrible disease this is, which, BTW, is no longer debatable as defined by the medical & psychiatric community.. Man i want to help him so bad, just to be there with him and let him know that its just withdrawal, put a women in there with him to keep him calm too, i think any withdrawals are easier as long as you have something there to keep you occupied. TO ALL STUPID PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD...YOU ARE BEING LIED TO ABOUT DRUGS (among many many other things) IT IS JUST A WAY TO KEEP YOU ALL IN CHECK...NEXT ONE IS GLOBAL WARMING, JUST WATCH !!!!!. We're only here for a very limited time. Many of us suffer depression- aspergers and other unseen signs and symptoms that the general public will never understand. My question is, why can't we choose to be happy given the time we are here.
They couldn't possibly have given him a blanket or a decent space to lie down I know he's in there for drugs but he seems pretty levelheaded and hes not giving anyone a hard time...maybe some people should learn a little compassion for others.
+Black Death 1347 I also had unwanted breaks because it's kind of expensive, especially here in Sweden. When i first quit Oxy it took about 2 months to feel normal again. The second time i used acetylfentanyl for 2 months. I even overdosed that time so i could have been dead..after that i quit and felt like shit for a week, couldn't sleep, not hungry, my leg was twitching like crazy.. but after a week without i started feeling alot better I still think opiates are the shit but it was over a month since i used it.. Exactly. Not only does it put increased stress on the system, having to house, feed, medicate, etc. that costs tax payers. It doesn't fix or mitigate anything. People who use tend to get out and continue using, and that leads to overdoses. It does lead to more crime, i.e a tweaker up all night tryin to get more $ for more dope etc. There is crime anyway. If people want to use dope thats their prerogative. They know the risks. It's pointless t o jail them for simply being under the influence or possession. luckily in Ca. (at least) possesion is now only a misdemeanor. I mean noth sides have valid arguments, but I fall on the addicts side! I'm just sayin.. These are the systems The United States of America has got so twisted that our government looks as though it is no longer for our people. I'm deeply ashamed by this video.. Going through this now. I thought I was a recreational user, it sneaks up on you like a motherfucker. One day I decided nah, I'm not gonna use today, I'll go do something else. Uh oh...why do I feel all jittery Something's not right... The next few days I kept using, now realizing that I didn't want to, I HAD TO. My last hit was yesterday morning and I've decided that's enough. I'll push through, this hell can't last forever. Heroin is nothing to play with. Learned the hard way.. Good decision. As bad as you will feel, this will be the easiest withdrawal you could have, as subsequent habits get harder & harder to kick. Do it once, & move on. Good luck.. Wow. Our "justice" system is severely fucked up. Let's let our citizens writhe in agony and pain and not do anything to help them. All the U.S. government cares about is how much money they can steal from its citizens. Fucking disgusting.. Heroin is evil - all junkies should be shot they're no good to society they will never be useful to this system. Alcohol on the other hand - now theres a no problem drug !!! No consequencies whatsoever, everyone wins !!!.
Un fucking believeable that we lock up people with a huge problem like this and then parade them around so we can "feel better" about our own shitty lives. Fuck this authority based system, these people need help..
Hold on, hold on... it's 2016 right Why haven't people seen what happens to the world when more and more turn their back on God Sadly, it's only the beginning.. Good for u man I hope ur doing good. I know it's nothing compared to thee other drug withdrawals but I'm 22 and I want to quit weed. Today been my first full day non smoking. Can't sleep. Irritable and can't est worth shit. I'm watching this videos cuz I know weed withdrawals ain't shit compared to these drugs. And b4 u say something like oh weed isn't addictive. Yes it it. Anything can get addictive if u do everyday long enough. . The only thing I have left to say is-PLEASE GET HELP! I KNOW withdraws are horrendous! The posts here don't even BEGIN to describe it! My boy used to bang his legs against the walls! Guess what He NEVER, EVER, STOLE from us! He would go through withdrawl before he EVER would steal from us! And he never ever did! He tried SO HARD! PLEASE get help you all! You CAN make it if you REALLY TRY! So do it SOON! The POISON they cut this crap with is ridiculous! My boys was cut w/Fentinyl. (a powerful painkiller).I have something to tell you about what they cut coke & pot with too..

Comments about this video:

Weed helps but without the nicotine you may be a bit unfocused/driven until you stop. Weed has no withdrawal so it's a good substitute when quitting tobacco..
I get anxiety attacks some times but hell no I'm not coming back to that satan's cock that a cigarette is. Never smoke and you'll be fine..
Hey hopefully you get this I was smoking for almost a year not heavily about 4-5 a day didn't even know I was addicted until I didn't smoke for a week or so I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me.. I was dizzy lightheaded and I had panic attacks like crazy on the bus it was embaressing I'm on medication for anxiety but when will these symptoms be gone for good.. I slipped and had a half a ciggerette on Monday.. But before that I was going through these symptoms for 2 and a half weeks now I'm afraid to be alone .
+Bresden Jones it takes 5 weeks from the last puff for your brain chemistry to return to normal...provided that you weren't smoking when you were young enough for it to permanently affect your brain development.Try getting a bottle of robitussin DM or generic equivalent and take a swallow of it and chase it with water when you feel wacked out, it will halt the withdrawal symptoms..
+ed's quit cigs by vaping only takes 1 cig and boom you are down in the hole again..
Good video thanks for sharing. I pretty much agree with you on most of what you said. Not so much the clawing sensation. But yea heavy smoking will cause sore lungs. I'm going through the 'drawals right now for like the 10th time in 8 years. The first 3 days are for sure the hardest like you said. I don't recommend going to work for those 3 days, get them off if you can. Mood swings are for sure. The mental debate/confusion coming and going, sometimes even shouting in my head: " What the hell am I doing, is this worth it Okay, maybe I was just smoking too much, I'll cut back and moderate how many I have in a day, or whatever... But this cold turkey shit is Shit!"...etc. Whoever's reading this, if you're a regular smoker, I can honestly swear to you it's Eons better to quit. For a plethora of reasons. But you won't know until you try it. One thing I've obviously struggled with is promising to myself "Never Again... Not even one". While this ' putting my foot down ' self - motivation is initially encouraging and gives you that mental "closure" feeling, it's simply easier said than done. It's impossible to completely erase the memory of the pleasure of smoking, so naturally there's gonna be temptation and desire. So here's my thinking about this now: Moderation, not just with smoking, but with anything pleasurable, is possible. So what I'm doing now is giving myself strict limits. Once a month, I'll allow myself to smoke. This is a new experiment for me. All the other 10 times that I quit cold turkey I did it with the intention of quitting for good. So this once a month trial is new. What do you think .
I know exactly what you are talking about. I have quit smoking many times in the past 3 years. So much so that I begun to find it easy to quit. I actually started to prefer not smoking. I'd fall back into the smoking trap every 3 weeks or so but had no doubts in my ability to quit again by the next day or week. I thought I had it all under control... BUT... I have fallen majorly back into addiction this time... I have not had the balls to quit for months now.. I can't get past the first day.. It is hell!! I don't know how I ever made it past day one all those times before. Why did I ever come back to this. My advice to you or anyone is: If you have made it past the first few days and are starting to feel the benefits of quitting, don't ever look back. Don't ever question your decision to quit. The fantasy of that cigarette that we all crave is far sweeter than the actual foul cigarette itself. As soon as you smoke that cigarette that you have been dreaming about it's all over. And you will wonder why you came back down to the lowest of levels to get yourself hooked again on something that is not as great as you dreamed it would be... sigh... I feel for all of you's in this nicotine trap. I've never escaped. I've been close.. This time for sure!! :) It's just ticked over 24hours without a cigarette. I did it... Day one is over. It gets easier from here. All the very best to all of you..
Totally agree, i'm 4 months in and couldnt quit cold turkey personally, tried 20 times at least.. Wasnt for me but i wish you all the best.
Hi Matt! Just wanted to throw out a thanks to you as your words where what got me thinking through the very beginning of my quitting process, that there is a way and its I am not going to be in withdrawal FOREVER! lol. Also for everyone else who wants to experience how i quit cigarettes, educate yourself by visiting www.whyquit.com. Good luck, and remember, never take another puff! ;).
This is only my second day of quitting and besides cravings I am really twitchy. Like I have to keep tapping my foot or doing something with my hands. I do not know if this is because of the anxiety or what.. Im trying to quit vaping, and the only reason i started was to deal with the stress of my ex gf using me.. I left her, but now im dealing with a whole new set of problems. They arent as bad i just have to adjust..
Well, you better take Chantix the rest of your life, because as soon as you stop, there's no more "it tastes awful" to prevent you from smoking "just one" some dark, dreary day in the future. You're deluding yourself..

i also realized that theres alot more chemicals in real cigs that are also addictive in cigs besides nicotine i think it had a big part to do with it. .
I'm pretty sure that you haven't never actually smoked cigarettes in your life and that is good, but also shows how ignorant you are because as you haven't ever smoked in your life possibly more than few weeks, therefore you have no idea how addicting nicotine is..
Well the fact is I now stopped. Go lecture some other people about how easy you had it and see hat they say..
it has been 3 weeks since i quit. i have not had any cravings so far. But thats because i have avoided all my old smoking triggers. The biggest one is drinking and hanging out with friends who smoke. I am not sure what to expect the next time I go to a party.. im at 5 days and the morning is the worst part of the day for me...i feel like theres a gorilla standing on my chest... i didnt think i would experience all the emo symptoms but oh boy am i ever! i flipped out for no real reason, i get depressed if the tigers lose a baseball game... but its getting easier.. now if i could just sleep at nite!! . Thanks. The Chantix is working, now into my second day not smoking. And I feel better already. I'm starting to cough up lots of garbage..
Water vapor with propylene glycerin, nicotine and glycerin. It's true that small amounts of nicotine isn't addictive in dosage of 0.1 mg but tobacco has at least 0.6 mg of nicotine and e-liquid at least 8 mg (not 0.8 mg).
Man I just went to the hospital because I think of smoking cig's and why is because I felt like I couldn't rearm and I was shacking pretty bad. I feel pretty bad still tho and i don't know what to do :|.
Sad truth about smoking is that if you manage to quit, you still have chance of starting again after being smoke free for even 10 years or longer. If you have managed to be without smoke for like 2 weeks and start again, that's achievement and you should not be too hard on yourself. For many people it takes more than 7 strikes to actually get rid of smoking once and for all and the trick is that people just get tired of repeating same mistake and going thru same pain all over again..
When we are talking about nicotine in tobacco the nicotine dosage is well beyond addictive limit, same goes with nicotine gum, e-cigarettes and nicotine patches. I tried nicotine free e-liquid and it didn't help me at all, even-though I can't see the difference in same liquid with 8 mg of nicotine in it pretty much anymore. You say that there aren't any physical symptoms and therefore there's no symptoms at all, but the psychological withdrawal symptoms are worst.
yes, because for that short amount of time, nicotine takes away the anxiety. But it's also the main cause of it, so it's an endless cycle of delusion and chainsmoking..
Awhhh man can i just say i feel good knowing the anxiety isn't just some LSD flashback! for awhile i thought i was going crazy because i switched over to the BLU cigs and i was like hey this works! until i started having these horrible horrible anxiety attacks like impending doom was approaching! all i gotta say is its been 4 days now and i havnt smoked anything and i notice the anxiety going away man its been really hellish too.. any advice on how you dealt with it.
They all believe the lie, that's why they can't stop. If they read "The Easy Way To Quit Smoking" they (and you) would understand. I speak the absolute truth. If you quit, it's in spite of Chantix/gum/fairy dust/whatever - not because of it. In fact, the chantix & others will only make it HARDER for you to not start again, because you haven't gotten rid of the brainwashing - that is, the lie that nicotine is any more addictive than caffeine. People smoke for one reason: fear..

Good video. Right now I'm on Chantix prescribed by my doctor for the second time. Dr. Charney only gave me a 30 day supply the first time and I went back to smoking. But now I have refills for the next five months. Chantix has two functions: it relaxes your mind giving you strength to stay away from cigarettes, and the second function is it makes you hate the taste of cigarettes after taking a few drags and you have to put it out. This takes effect after using Chantix after the first week..

"strong mental will to stop smoking" - LOL. You are a deluded fucking retard. You're the kind of nitwit the tobacco companies love. Closed-minded dolt who swallows their lies hook, line and sinker. Fuck you and your big-pharma cheerleading..
And arguing about dopamin with me is quite pointless, I have AdHd and as for that I know preeety well what dopamin is because brain receptors of an AdHd person don't either receive enough or receive too much dopamine. You could say, "Sad truth about eating too many carrots is that if you manage to quit, you still have the chance of starting eating too many carrots again after being too-many-carrots-free for even 10 years or longer" and it would make the same amount of sense: NONE. Nicotine is pretty much as addictive as carrots: in other words, NOT AT ALL (well, a little but hardly worth worrying about.) It's just a big lie to make you AFRAID to quit. It's all in the mind. It's an evil, brilliant scam.. You can say, "After 6 to 12 months of not banging your head against a wall anymore, you can still want to bang your head against the wall but it's easier not to and starts get even easier after that" and it would make the same amount of sense: NONE. Nicotine is only very very mildly addictive, and you don't need pills or any other hocus-pocus to stop using it. You just need to unravel the mystery of WHY you smoke: fear. Once you got that, you're done smoking.. You need to read and listen what people say, words like "help" "makes it easier" and "make you" have all different meanings. If someone tells you "nicotine can make quitting smoking easier" they mean that it can make it easier, but might also make it harder. If they say "nicotine gum will make you quit smoking" then that is load of bullshit. Have you ever seen any nicotine gum advert which would claim that "Buy me and you won't smoke ever again" if so, then sue them and you get easy money. Further more I could name 30 ex smokers who have quit smoking with e-cigarettes and all those 30 people don't even use e- cigarettes anymore. E-cigarette doesn't make you stop smoking, neither does nicotine gum or patches, they help you to quit smoking and quitting is all up to you not to the product. If you expect some nicotine replacement to make you stop quitting or hear anyone saying "This nicotine gum makes you get rid of smoke" you can sue them for telling misleading information.
And you don't get caffeine without prescription other than in coffee or lemonade because it's addictive and can cause heart failure, stroke and insomnia just like nicotine. And did I say that you mentioned dopamine at point No I didn't I mentioned it to explain why nicotine is addictive, you're just avoiding the facts that has been in the table longer than both of us have lived. .
History of smoking goes like this. It has been since dawn of humans but tobacco industry started in 1300, during renaissance era France king banned coffee, card games and tobacco because he couldn't stand the smell of smoke, taste of coffee and considered card games as habit of scums and criminals. to forward a bit to the 1920's tobacco industry started research about health hazards of smoking and they found out that pretty much everything was cancer causing chemicals. If your husband has any respect for you, he'll refrain from smoking around you. He can go outside. Let your friends know you're trying to quit. If its too hard, then perhaps you need to avoid them for a little while. What's more important...quitting smoking, or hanging out with your friends. Just read wikipedia. And I'm finnish, thanks to Finland, Sweden and Norway, whole tobacco industry got caught red handed about smoke hazards in Northern countries and you have been well brainwashed about the fact that nicotine isn't addictive. Why tobacco still is legal is that some people can quit smoking just like that and people like you among tobacco industrialists keeps this as a proof even-though people who can quit smoking just like that are actually very lucky few, while most people are having more trouble with it. do whatever it takes to make it home safe and sound without smoking and get to the next day. That's all that matters. Nothing else matters besides making it thru the day. Do your thing, pack up your stuff, and leave and go directly home..
Oh yeah, "doctors" are really the ones who hold all the big secrets to quitting smoking. Yeah right. Can you say "whores for Big Pharma".

None of those gimmicks helps you quit. Anyone who uses them and quits, does so in spite of them, not because of them. They make it harder to quit, because they perpetuate the big lie that nicotine is extremely addictive (it's not.).

One thing that happens to me is when I'm sleeping, I'll dream about smoking or buying a pack of smokes. ALSO EXTREME NIGHTMARES haha..
You stopped for now. But you're very likely - very likely - to start again. Why Because you still believe the big lie that nicotine is this incredibly addictive drug (it's not.) You also still believe smoking gave you pleasure (it didn't) and "relaxed you" (it didn't) - so you're very likely to smoke again. Good luck with that. No skin off my nose. Oh, and don't forget to keep leading others down the yellow brick Chantix road. LOL. They do and actually there's cheap solution, just call to doctor and ask them, you don't have to pay doctors if you ask help on the phone. You also can call to antismoke help hotline which is free of charge and all the advisors are either ex smokers or doctors.
The 80s music at the end was great! I'm on day 9, physical withdrawal has gotten smaller, mental is still here, and I'm VERY hungry. ALL the time.
Whos the most important person in yout life You are! So you're smoking You must not consider.yourself very important. Day 2 baby! So exited. I had anxity when i quit went a long time without smokeing but i didnt know thats what it was. And i started smokeing again. But im going to quit for sure now. Damn. Anxiety attacks are the worst thing i ever felt honestly. Im going to quit! I see why its so hard for people to quit now.
Seems you have more of a bad attitude attitude problem loaded with anger. Why do you get so angry Calling people assholes and retards is totally uncalled for here. I'm surprised others leaving comments in this room haven't already told you to chill out as they say..

I have no idea why you're yammering about adverts and legalities etc. I haven't said a word about any of that - and that is all totally irrelevent to my single point: that nicotine is not extremely addictive (mildly, yes, but nothing to be bothered about, certainly no more addictive than caffeine) and that quitting smoking is absurdly easy for ANYONE, once they understand why they smoke in the first place..

I just quit smoking yesterday night after 2 years and i went for a run came home and i was fine until about 15 mins later i like flipped out into an anxiety attack.

"The psychological affect of withdrawals are awful" - finally you said something that's true. It's ALL psychological. There are NO physical withdrawal symptoms to quitting nicotine (well, a very mild craving, like for a cup of coffee, but nothing serious). The terrible "withdrawal symptoms" people experience when quitting are purely 100% PSYCHOLOGICAL and based on FEAR..

My hands are shaking as i write this. and i feel like crap. Its just day 2 of my withdrawal. its not that bad mentally as long as i'm busy but physically cant take it. i'm in the office and nobody around me has noticed what is going on. i hope i make it. or i should say i will make it. . +Charles Chege I used to get that after drinking as well, sometimes for two or three days... you'll get over it. I'm quitting drinking to I only drink once or twice a week but getting bad withdrawals for 2 to 3 days after. I am 29 been drinking regular since 15 body can't take it no more. withdrawals I'm getting feeling very hot temperature but very cold shivering all over really bad a bad bolt of headache sometimes. can't eat much sleeping to much sensitve eyes need this to stop..
and that's why i only drink fridays and/or saturdays heavily but the rest of the week i keep 0% alcohol, so it doesnt get into my lifestyle, im just a young dude that can handle a lot of alcohol and nothing really bad happened to me, besides eating at ridiciulos hours and drinkin here and there also at stupid hours instead of keeping it healthy, after doing that after a long period of time i got my stomach not working poperly with not normal dumps lol until i got to the hospital, so i really recommend to recover yourself 5 days of a week and if you are going hardcore you will be more prepared to drink those 2 days (or sepecial ocations)...also i did this because i was gaining some weight...anyway i really recommend to drink 1 to 2 times a week (heavily) or not...it depeds on how clean is your body if your body is functioning normally (you should never drink if you dont have a solid dump, because you are damaging your stomach and other organs further more), and you should prepare before drinking, i.e. if you drink a lot of water before the alcohol, some juice or soda while drinking alcohol, and more water after drinking alcohol and if you also have something to eat like bananas, eggs etc. you will avoid to feel like shit cause of the hangover, and im tellig you after drinking a lot of vodka and beers, it just gives your metabolism a balance ;) if you do this the wthdrawal symptoms will be controlled and you will have no complications or consequences after all, its all about balance....

Well my body isn't accepting it anymore, I have terrible health problems to start with and I have really screwed myself with alcohol after 1.5 years of heavy use. However, I lost interest in the few things that I was interested in since. I am uptight and unpleasant to be around. for me quitting hasn't been good at all, but It was starting to kill me so no choice....

im quiting tommorrow. ive got gerd and beetween the gerd and the massive amount of beer i physical cant drink anymore. im worried i workout alot and ive been getting the shakes my stomach aches. tommorrow i start a job doing heavy labor and im worried a little. ive set a goal to get threw my day head for the doctor for some clonadine and thats it. im never going back. this video was good to watch.
Kevin you are so right. What people withdrawing (including myself) often do is consult "Dr. Google" which really starts to provoke an irrational fear about withdrawals. Don't get me wrong, I've detoxed medically twice and rode out withdrawals alone under the covers on three different occasions and this video you made really helped because you don't promote fear mongering. It's like you said, think about how great you'll feel when you get over it! Thanks Kevin.. This guy is trivializing an addiction that often proves to be fatal. think inability to hold your hand steady enough to shave or to write your name, a profound depth of anxiety, fear, depression DO NOT IGNORE SYMPTOMS. GO TO THE ER. .
+AlcoholMasteryTV More people die from Alcohol then drugs ! Did you know that Alcohol is the number 1 drug in the world Get your facts straight, you are giving false information on here! Are you a Doctor .

+kym sutton You are right, more people die from alcohol than any other drug. The piece you are missing out on is that these people are dying as a result of drinking this drug, not from stopping drinking it. By giving people a mortal fear about quitting drinking, many more people are not going to stop, which means more people will die! Stop Drinking Alcohol Now!.

I'm quitting alcohol for the first time after being an alcoholic for the past 7 years straight drinking a pint of whiskey and a six pack beer everyday. Today and for the first time I started research about withdrawals and coming off alcohol after I decided to quit drinking. Thankfully i watched your video before i went deeply into this research and before all of it getting into me. I appreciate your advice..
Hi, I'm 26, drank for over 30 years and stopped drinking without seeing my doc! in fact, well over three quarters of those who quit do it on their own, without any medical intervention. Most people are smart enough to know if they need to get medical attention. Most doctors are GP's. They're not specialists in addiction. And most will refer to AA, who aren't medically trained either.. I drank beer for 6 years averaged 6 beers a day maybe 8 I quit a couple days ago and I am not feeling anything physical.. I think the problem lies with the fact the word "alcoholism" needs to be divided into like 5 different types. When I Google alcoholism I read about people who just go to the pub every night. True alcoholism is when you can't even sleep because you need alcohol every few hours, if not continually. I am lucky to be detoxing at this point because that's the stage I got to. THAT'S alcoholism. It's Trainspotting bedroom scene shit.. Someone please give me advice! I'm 21 years old, been drinking since 16, I got sober for 9 months but then I relapsed, I want to try and quit but withdrawals last time was hell, and I've only drank more since then, I drink usually 12, sometimes 15 beers a day, how can I detox safely at home Has anyone successfully tapered off after drinking as much as me.
this is such fucking bullshit. I went a whole fucking year withdrawing like crazy (age 18) having absolutely no idea that it was alcohol withdrawal and I felt like GARBAGE. It wasn't until I finally went to the ER at 19 and they had to detox me with an IV of Ativan to get me right again that I knew what I was going through. How could I have induced psychosomatic symptoms if I didn't even know alcohol withdrawal EXISTED This guy is trivializing an addiction that often proves to be fatal. The drinking age is 21 here in USA, yet there I was, 19 and hospitalized repeatedly for my condition. This shit is no fucking joke. DO NOT IGNORE SYMPTOMS. GO TO THE ER. .

This is the first video i've even seen about alcohol withdrawal, so i've never looked it up before. But for the past 10 months, i've been drinking nearly every day, and whenever I stop, I feel a very powerful urge to drink again. It's all I can think about, it makes it hard to focus or concentrate on anything. I can feel it all over my body too, and sometimes it's so bad that I feel sick in the guts, and just to be clear, no, it's not a hangover..
Dude, withdrawal can be hell, not a hypochondriac. I've woken up in the hospital after seizing and splitting my head... Twice. You can die, it's rare but why take the chance. Go to a hospital or recovery clinic. Im (currently) a recovering alcoholic. I feel really tired and no motivation is this from the withdrawal I not drank for 2 weeks and 3 days .
Many thanks for the tips! I have just started my journey on end drinking (6th january 2015) feel free to follow my steps and google vunatias sober life handbook.
this is excellent advice. i cannot believe i stumbled upon this video. the words are just what i needed to hear because you are correct. especially about the sleep. plus hearing it from someone about my age and not some 20 year old chick whining because she drinks 2 glasses of wine every day ! thank you so much. i mean it..
I just wanted yo word to know how much I appreciate this submission. Each and every word means to me. Thank you..

I agree a lot with this. I never had bad withdrawal symptoms until I read online about seizures and delirium tremens. As a hypochondriac type, I scared myself shitless about this when actually, after examining my hands, they weren't shaking that badly, or certainly not to the extent they would be shaking if I was about to have a seizure! My GP has confirmed this and said half of the withdrawal comes from anxiety about the withdrawal and coming off from the alcohol.
This guy hit tha nail on tha head. For me, my mind makes my withdrawal much worse than it probably is in reality. I'm a hypochondriac type and when I start reading shift online, I start feeling like that applies to me. However, 2 years ago, when I was 19, I went through the DTs and it scared tha living shirt out of me. I was drinking Everclear for about 2 weeks straight, and I was drinking beer along with it. I started feeling really run down, sluggish, and I knew I needed to stop drinking. Two days into my sobriety and I began hallucinating, puking my fuckin guts out, shaking like a motherfucker bla bla bla. I was hospitalized for a week with a steady IV drip of diazepam. Tha point of my comment was to say that SOME cases like tha one I experienced are a health concern, but for tha majority of cases are in fact, mind over matter,. Im sorry but this is very bad and dangerous advice. People die all the time trying to stop drinking cold turkey. Seek a detox center so if you do start to have seizures or dt's. Those two in particular are not in "your head" they are physical responses to the alcohol leaving your system. Now this may not happen with everybody but DO NOT risk it! The sleep disturbance this man is talking about comes from the fact that when you drink alcohol you never reached the fourth stage of sleep so your mind starts to develop a pattern of not needing as much sleep. Then when you stop drinking and that becomes exacerbated and has very similar signs to insomnia. Anyone suffering from drug or alcohol addiction please seek professional help . This is HORRIBLE advise LOL. yes the symptoms are different for everyone and yes you shouldn't hype ur self up for them. BUT DO NOT FUCKING IGNORE THEM. you can die from alcohol withdrawal and you should most defiantly get medical help before going off of alcohol..
I got Dt's from going 18 hours with out a drink... I didn't even quit just waited a little longer and I almost died. it is different for everyone and that's why you should go see a doctor first.
+AlcoholMasteryTV I think AA is a joke. I wouldn't really suggest someone go through all that unless they have 0 supportive people in their life. the symptoms are the worst part and yes there is medications that will either completely nullify them or make it much more tolerable. for mild to moderate withdrawals they will give you a 4 day - 2 week supply of anti-anxiety medications. first 2 days are heavy doses and the next are wean doses. for extreme withdrawals you will need to be hospitalized. once the Dt portion of withdrawal starts there is nothing but time that will make it go away.. Brilliant vid,i do periods of not drinking and the not sleeping is always a factor,i just tell myself that 3 hours sober sleep will do me,instead of drunk sleep, waking up for the toilet, snoring etc..,i feel tired when i do drink, the no sleep nightmares usually last for about 3 or 4 days for me. I get the deliriums alot the first day in withdrawl. Atleast it feels like u did magic mushrooms and get a bad trip. Then after i went in withdrawl one day and evantually fall asleep i wake up in a pool of my own sweat and the mental part is basically over. Either way it's hell to get that over and over again, sooner or later u will collapse mentally and physically.. If you have been drinking a large amount for an extended period of time, see a DOCTOR rather than quitting on your own..

based on my brother experience of getting alcohol abuse, I will recommend you to call 855-414-0454. The employees and therapists at its alcohol Rehab are awesome.. 2 a2r1v1i2s I feel you. Im sitting here now 20+ days sober after 6 years of drinking and im having horrible Withdrawal Symptoms. Sometimes i wake up and im shaking, freezing and dizzy. Now it feels like my head is about to explode... . This is what I was researching to read before. I started to have this symtoms 3 years ago I felt the seisures in my mind and body I though I was dying, it always happened after stopping drinking for 5 to 20 days, than I stopped drinking for almost 2.5 years, but i disided to drink again and went to the same things, Withdrawls zisures are criminal so now I'm in my 5th month without a drink..
2 a2r1v1i2s I feel you, I usually suffer the same symptoms. It's nice to here I'm not alone and I'm not the only one who struggles with this..

10 beers at night 3 to 4 times a week for years and decided to quit. Terrible anxiety..shakey rubbery legs, fear, and feeling of doom. Anxious feeling in chest, not head. ANyone else feel like this. I dont even know if it is the alcohol. I usually feel good the next day after drinking. I feel terrible the 2nd or third. Maybe it is the alcohol, not sure..

ive been there, i drank almost everyday for 8 years, and then quit cold turkey.., it was horrible, sweating, fever, sleeplesness, nausia, nightmares..not fun.
damn, some of the withdrawals on here are crazy...it's my first day w/o alcohol and im terriffed...i cant stop sweating, i feel like i cant breathe-just really horrible anxiety is this normal>>. 2 a2r1v1i2s 35+ days now and feeling better but far away from 100%, talked to the local AA and they said that withdrawal symptoms can last from 3 to 12 months. I just want to wish everyone out there good luck and just hang in there. You can do it!.
8 weeks i was told it would take to notice the anxiety really ease by a doctor when i was hospitalized for a detox. I managed 6 weeks sobriety and noticed it did fade but taught i was cured and start drinking again. Time to sort this shit out for good this time, its just not worth it!.
dude this is what I am going threw exactly right now...the dt's went away after a day...but the anxiety, sleeplessness and visual hallucinations are still here.Plus I can't eat...it sucks.
the hallucinations from alcohol w/d are terrifying. it's not like being high, it's like being in hell. the one episode of w/d's i had, literally scary faces, crawling bugs/rats, snakes, etc any time you close your eyes. you cannot sleep but for ten mins at a time, and those short periods are marred with nightmares that seem very real. and you wake up in a pool of sweat with a racing heart. and it repeats over and over again, you get maybe an hour of horrible sleep at the most..
it's been a month since your comment and i hope you're doing better by now, but i'm not sure what you meant by 'normal.' you're experience was caused by alcohol withdrawal, and though those symptoms are typical, they are not normal. the thing to do when you have w/d anxiety/panic is to seek proper treatment. a doctor can prescribe sedatives/anxiolytics that you can take for a few days to ease withdrawal. cold turkey can not only be really bad, but can last much longer without the proper detox. its hard for an alcoholic to do, but have you tried weaning off ive gone through wd's twice. when i stopped cold turkey, i wasnt even too worried about w/d because i figured it would just go away. into day 3 i was in hell. the second time, i was determined to stop drinking and would take about an ounce or two of hard liquor every hour the first day, then every 2 hours the second, etc. if you are very strict about it, it will make w/d tolerable and last much shorter if you gradually slow down.. went to the hospital last night..bp was 178/108...liver enzymes were high but not hepetitus. have bad dt's...severe... day 2. no more drinking 4 me!. 2 a2r1v1i2s One more thing, i calculated that i have been drinking nonstop for 9 years, those 6 last years was about 12 to 16 beers every day or every other day, on empty stomach and i would rearly eat and i didint even have hangovers anymore, and the symptoms didint begin immidietly for me but 1½ week later of being sober.. I've had the withdrawals and I thought I was gonna drop dead!! My heart was beating fast, my chest was tight, i couldn't sit still for 2 seconds, man it's just not worth it, I'm quitting drinking!!!.
Yeup that sounds like something that would come from alcohol withdrawals..i know thats a fact.ive went through them...but i believe its based on how hard u where drinking and for how long and just suddenly stop...it can be alot worse then that trust me...as of now i think the last time i drank was like december 17th, its january 8th 1:43 am right now..if u gonna just stop suddenly make sure u got a comfortable room or place..where there is very lil noise and dimmed light or none.

I believe that I am beginning to get withdrawals. I don't really get the shakes, however, I get very depressed and anxious the following day after a night of partying. I feel like the world's coming to an end and lose all ambition for like 2 days. Does this happen to anyone else.
Got an ambulance intervention today, Bp 160/110, severe anxiety (thought I was about to die) and tremors. Got a shot of diazepam, slept a few hours, now I'm starting to panic again. At least I know I most propably wont die just today. But if I start drinking again, I know its just a matter of time.. Deciding to quit an alcohol addiction is difficult to do. But fortunately there's hope. If you want sobriety badly, then you can do it.. I've been drinkin heavily for the past 5 yrs and drinking regulary for total of 10yrs. 3 yrs ago I drank a 1/3 to 1/2 ga. vodka every night for 4 months...then I got scared starting hallucinating and didnt sleep for up to 3 days 4 days but kept working, when I stopped after that 4 mths I literally went out of my mind. It took about a month to feel normal then I moved. Got to a better place. Still Drink but not that heavily or often. Sending prayers to the rest of you with your addictions.. im going through it now... day 2. i keep thinking its never going to end... thanks for the reasurrance that it will. I can't wait till it does. 2 juststl depends how bad it is. If you're having a seizure then hospital, but otherwise just get some meds from your doctor to deal with it. . I am on my 3 rd day...and it gets better...I had the shakes and sweets the first 2...now I have anxiety and insomnia.
dude im having the exact same problem. sweats shakes anxiety hallucinating. just not feeling my self. my poison was bacardi rum. a shot from morning till night every day. now im trying to slow down with beer. hopefully slowing my roll will land me safely..

best way to deal with it is just slowing down the way you drink until you dont need it anymore i'm doing it and its working dont go cold turkey just slow down until u are safe to let it go it works!!.
what kind of visual hallucinations i imagine it isn't like the patterns and stuff you see on lsd is it.
