    This is true but any switch to veggies & fruits and getting away from the Standard American Diet is an improvement...not everything needs to be organic, in my opinion...yes, it's optimal but not necessary. . Vegan foods...how do we get the most of our diets the use of enzymes to create 'isolates' of specific nutrients., You have heard of 'Soy Protien Isolate' and other isolates uses in the pharma companies...'Pharmacitical Grade' Sooooo...whats 'pharmacitical grade isolate' for example "apple sauce" or 'Cerals' Is it that so expansive or such a complicated ways to bring-up our supplements and whole foods to a 'Isolate' or to a 'pharmacitical grade' type of Bran Cererals We eat can fruits, canned vegatibles so aren't we making can goods that are 'isoslates of a pharmacitical grade of canned or dry box goods. How do you get enough calories on raw food when most of it is water I tried it for a week and i was always hungry, no amounts of fruit and veg could keep me ticking over. Also, its pretty expensive to keep up a raw food diet if you wanna keep up the caloric intake. If you earn a good salary then sure the raw food diet is there for you, but if you are earning low wages you wont be able to keep it up. Foods like potatoes, rice and pasta are not as healthy but far cheaper. .
    +blandybo of course, you can have a healthy oatmeal with some fruit or fresh orange juice for breakfast, bananas and dates for lunch, up to 6-7 of them... you can snack throughout the day with nuts and seeds or drink big green smoothies so you don't get so hungry at the end of the day and your last meal may consist of a big mixed raw salad followed by boiled or backed potatoes or beans or whole rice with some steamed veggies... that's only an example and it sounds quiet affordable and satisfying ;-).

    Grain pretty much should be avoided. I think more vegans need to incorporate some of Dr. Atkins principles. I've followed a vegan version of Atkins for six years and look a tad bit better than your garden variety vegan. There's a book paleovegan that I believe is a good primer though I ain't a big fan of paleo I do think it's worth a look.. +James Clark I will disagree with the assertion that "grain should be avoided." Are you including WHOLE grains in that statement Whole grains are beneficial to us and have sustained many cultures on our planet for centuries, just saying. You might check out The Blue Zones... scientific proof right there.. I have a feeling this is pretty old, so many of the health improvements from a vegetarian diet aren't due to being a vegetarian, rather what one cuts out when switching over from a typical american diet to a plant based one-yet that doesn't mean in any way that a vegetarian diet is optimal, it simply isn't. . Maybe, but on a population level, switching from the SAD to vegan means cutting out meat and its cholesterol, saturated and trans fats, and cancer causing AGE's, and it means cutting out dairy and its atherogenic saturated fat, estrogen, growth hormones, and complex animal proteins. It also means all of these unhealthy things are replaced by densely nutritious plant foods with vitamins and minerals and phytochemicals that not only don't cause disease but help the body heal. So I don't think it's quite as simple as you think, but I also don't think anyone is claiming that the health benefits that accrue to vegans and vegetarians aren't at least in part due to the reduction of unhealthy foods consumed..

    There diets weren't also 8 times the level of gluten, and two times the level of meat, and two times the level of dairy that we currently consume. They could do more on less because the food they were eating was actually getting absorbed into the body (and their metabolisms likely adjusted to a slightly less caloric diet too): now who knows how much gets absorbed, or how much we've depleted the soil from shitty crop rotation and overfarming..

    That's a valid question you asked. About 8-10% India is vegetarian and others eat meat once to thrice a week in small quantities, as meat is relatively expensive. But the vegetarian food eaten is junk.     I have been living a fairly healthy life, I eat most of the foods you mentioned. I've been eating organic or locally grown foods for many years. I oil pull as well and use only flax seed, hemp seed, olive and coconut oils in my salads and cooking. I limit my milk intake because I do like greek yogurt for the probiotic live enzymes. Here's my question: You mentioned not eating whole wheat because of the gluten. White flour, white bread is very unhealthy also and I like to buy my bread organic or freshly made.     Okay I understand better what you're saying now but you also have to realise that the medical field is corrupt. When my father worked at MD Anderson cancer center for a couple years he took note greatly in how they took care of patients. One was noted is that although they do cure patients they don't fully tell everyone all the ways to assist them in their problems because if they did, MD Anderson and a bunch of other companies and people would lose business and their jobs. Although yes there is no cure, there are things that people are being hidden from. There is a possibility that what the guy in this video is not true, yes. Yet the idea of a healthy detoxified body being able to prevent and cure problems is obvious. Just look up the wonders that detoxification can do to you. Look up: eye color changing after raw veganism.
